Immobilization of Proteins 

Reductive amination is one of the most frequently used techniques for immobilization of biomolecules with an amino group. Successful binding of biomolecules on solid support is critical for:

  • Modification of chromatographic supports
  • Enzyme capture on solid support
  • Affinity chromatography
  • Ligand immobilization on biosensors

Solid supports such as Sepharose or Sephadex is furnished with an aldehyde reactive group
